Paying attention to moral cultivation is our Party’s fine tradition, whether in the period of revolution, construction or reform, our Party regards moral issues as the primary issue for Party members and cadres to be officials. Comrade
Mao Zedong profoundly expounded the moral concept of “serving the people”, requiring all Party comrades to be “a noble person, a pure person, a moral person, a person who breaks away from low-level interests, and a person who is beneficial to the people”. At the beginning of
reform and opening up, Comrade Deng Xiaoping emphasized that the more the Party and the government implement various policies of economic reform and opening up to the outside world, the more Party members, especially senior cadres in charge of the Party, should attach great importance to and practise Communist ideology and morality. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the
Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the moral construction of Party members and cadres, requiring Party members and cadres, especially leading cadres, to take strengthening moral cultivation as a very important compulsory course in life, and strive to win the hearts and minds of the people and win career achievements with the power of morality. The century-old history of the
Party fully shows that Party members are the cells of the Party’s body, that the Party’s advancement and purity depend on the advancement and purity of tens of millions of Party members, and that the Party’s ruling mission depends on the fruitful work of tens of millions of Party members. When we
study the history of the Party, we must keep in mind the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, uphold the idea that “rivers and mountains are the people, and the people are rivers and mountains”, always keep the heart of a child, and always put the people in the highest position in our hearts.
We should vigorously carry forward the red tradition, inherit the red gene, continue the spiritual blood of the Communists, always maintain the spirit of fearless struggle of the revolutionaries, and inspire the spirit of striding forward into a new journey and a new era.
We should take a compulsory course of moral cultivation, consciously draw nourishment from the excellent traditional Chinese culture, honestly learn from the people, always see the wise and think alike, and strengthen self-discipline and accept heteronomy with strict standards.
(4) To study history is to more consciously carry out the original intention and mission of the Communists through the study of the history of the Party. The 100 years of our Party are the 100 years of carrying out the original intention and mission, the 100 years of laying a solid foundation, and the 100 years of creating brilliance and opening up the future. The original intention and mission of the Communist Party of
China is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. Over the past
100 years, the Communist Party of China has always taken this initial intention and mission as the fundamental driving force for progress, and has been advancing bravely towards the grand goal of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation step by step. During the period of the
New Democratic Revolution, after 28 years of arduous struggle, our Party led the people to win the victory of the New Democratic Revolution and established the People’s Republic of China, creating the fundamental political prerequisite for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation; After the founding of New China, our Party United and led the people of all nationalities throughout the country to creatively complete the transformation from New Democracy to socialism and establish the historical journey of the basic socialist system in an all-round way; After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, the Party led the people in the great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. After the Fourth Plenary Session of the Thirteenth Central Committee, our Party successfully pushed socialism with Chinese characteristics into the 21st century. After the Sixteenth National Congress, our Party successfully adhered to and developed socialism with Chinese characteristics at a new historical starting point. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the
Communist Party of China, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, and our Party is leading the people of the whole country to strive for the goal of the second century.
The century-old history of the Party fully shows that empty talk is harmful to the country and practical work is beneficial to the country.
Great dreams are not waiting and shouting, but fighting and doing.
When we study the history of the Party, we must combine it with the practice of promoting the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, arm our minds with the Party’s innovative theory, stimulate the spirit of struggle in overcoming difficulties, enhance the ability of struggle, improve the ability and level of coping with risks and resolving various difficulties, and make contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
