On 18 May, the police arranged for more than 120 police officers to conduct carpet searches on the beach around the reeds in which the bodies were found, to gather clues and evidence, and to search for the cut-off finger, the head of Zhao Bo and Li.
After a day of search, it was not possible to find the finger of Boon and the skulls of Zhao Bo and Li.
However, traces at the scene show that four headless reeds were found, the scene where the bodies were killed, mutilated and dumped.

On the afternoon of 18 May, two corrupt bodies were found in the bushes behind the jade screens in the West Mountain Landscape by a crowd reported to the Kaima Public Security Directorate.
The command immediately dispatched criminal police and forensic doctors to conduct investigations and post-mortem examinations of the crime scene.
The post-mortem results showed that two bodies, one man and one woman, were highly corrupt and had died for more than 10 days.
The dead were all about 20 years old, and the female body showed signs of sexual abuse before death.

They are Hu Xiao Fei, a student at Kawabei Medical School, and Zhu Xiaoyan, a student at Nanbu University College of Guards.
They were lovers and disappeared on 5 May.

This series of cases has become increasingly confusing.
Four, rumours.
From the discovery of the skull on 13 May to the discovery of four headless bodies on 16 May to the discovery of two dead bodies on 18 May.
In just one week, several crime scenes were discovered in Nandu City.
Six of the victims were young people, four of whom were school students.
So there’s a rumor that the South China City mob is going to kill 600 students and bury them with the Big Boss.
Roo Xiaolin, the gang leader of the Southern Filling Market in recent years, has brought together a group of social gangs who spend their days wandering around, robbing houses, and in the South Filling City.

The best way to break the rumors is to solve the case as soon as possible.
The task force took time to analyse the case, focusing on the connection between the two cases.
The analysis found that there were several points in common between the “5.16 ” and “5.18 ” :
First, the time of the crime was at night, in the mountains or in the remote parts of the river;
Secondly, in both cases there was a couple, of whom the woman had been sexually assaulted;
Thirdly, the perpetrators were killed and dumped at the scene and did not transfer the site;
Based on these three points, the police suspect that the two cases were probably committed by the same criminal group.
As a result, the source of the series was not the discovery of the body on May 13th, but the disappearance of Hu Xiaofei and Xiaoyan Chu on May 5th.
The task force immediately decided to continue its “5.16 headless” mapping exercise while assigning personnel to strengthen the “5.18 man-mortem” investigation.
Soon, an important clue surfaced.
In the early hours of 4 May, three secondary schoolgirls, who were living in a residential area of Concubine Lane in the Gohyeong District, were robbed and raped by three assailants.
Two of the female students were raped and one of them was stabbed with a knife by the assailant because she was ill.
Three female students called the police after the incident, and by the time the police arrived, the perpetrators had already fled.
The case of late-night rape and house rape was brought to the attention of the specialized criminal police.
The time and purpose of the crime are very similar to the “5.16 no-headed body” and “5.18 mortuary” cases.
The incident was also close to the disappearance of Hu Xiao Fei and Zhu Xiaoyan on May 5, probably by the same group.
Three female students were immediately brought to the police for assistance in the investigation.
After careful inquiry, the police were informed that the three assailants had local accents and were not of old age.
Condoms were used during the rape and taken away after the crime, without leaving any traces at the scene.
Given the fact that two other rape killings took place, as well as leaving no trace of the perpetrator, it is likely that the perpetrator took the condom away after the incident.
It is largely certain that the three cases were committed by the same group of persons, when, where and by such a similar approach.
“Five and Dark Willows.”
The task force immediately conducted a targeted vetting exercise once it was possible that the group had been informed of the three local youths.
On 21 May, a crowd reported that a woman had rented a house in Takahyeong Town, the high area not far from the “5.16 no-headed corpse” dump site.

Since the discovery of four headless bodies on 16 May, the police have mobilized a total of thousands of police officers to inspect more than 600 per cent of the complex sites, rented houses and over 640 suspects, and have still nothing.

However, the task force did not give up, and they continued to follow up on several cases.
On 22 May, Zhao Bo and Lee Tai’s heads, the victims of the “5.16 headless crime”, were found under the ground, respectively.

On the morning of May 25th, the task force received an important message:

On 28 May, Private Liu ‘ s mental defence line was breached.
“Please give this letter to my parents. I’m sorry.
After writing the next “Death Letter”, Private Liu also gave accounts of his involvement in the series.
In the early hours of 4 May 2001, Liu ‘ s brothers and Zhao Keung broke into a residential house in the Gacheng district of South China City in the dark, raped two female students living in a residential house, and stabbed another female student and stole the RMB 1,500.
One day later, on the night of May 5, four of Liu’s brothers, Zhao Qiang and Liao Hung robbed Hu Xiao Fei and Zhu Xiaoyan of a date in the middle of the West Mountain Landscape forest in Kaung District.
The four men raped Zhu Xiaoyan and then killed them and dumped them at the scene.
This is what happened with the “5.18 corruption.”
On the evening of May 12th, four people were robbed by the Gangeung River and Pong Ying, and were seen by Zhao Bo and Lee, who were playing along the river.
The four men took Tsing Ding Chun, Bong Yan, Zhao Bo and Lee to the reeds and strangled them with their clothes and necks.
The same method was used to strangle the petan after brutal gang rape.
At the time of the rape, Barrow’s finger had been scratched by the killer’s arm and, in order to avoid leaving traces, the four men had cut his finger and threw it into the river.

From March 2000 until May 2001, when the group of four men, Private Liu, committed a total of 11 crimes in the city of Nandu, killing 11 people, 7 of whom were school students; seriously wounded 1 person and raped 8 women.
And what they have done, is hard to tell.
In so many cases, there were several cases in which four people had seen single couples in their loitering and had committed robbery and rape.
Asked why the rape couple was suddenly robbed, the answer of the four people was striking:
‘Cause they’re so cute, they want to fuck ’em! I’m sorry.
After listening to the statements of Private Liu and others, even experienced criminal police officers were unable to break their language:
“All fucking scum! I’m sorry.
9. The Southern Devil
On May 29th, at 10 a.m., the sun rose in Nandu City, sweeping the shadows of the day.
The Southern City Public Security Bureau held a “5.16 series of cases” public arrest conference at the stadium and announced the arrest of four suspects, including Private Liu.
Tens of thousands of people came into the city ‘ s stadium and witnessed the entire process of arrest.
Four men, including Private Liu, were in four holding vehicles under heavy escort from the Carabineros and the civilian police and slowly entered the stadium.

The sky in South Metro is finally clear again.
On 27 October 2001, at 3 p.m., the Intermediate People ‘ s Court of Nandu City sentenced Liu Tianjun, Liu Tianlong, Liao Hung and Zhao Zhang to death in the first instance and deprived them of their political rights for life.
On the morning of 20 November 2001, four of Liu’s soldiers were executed and their lives ended in sin.
Although more than 20 years have passed since the events, the fear that four people have brought to the city of Nanjing in just over a dozen days has left the people of Nanjing in their hearts.
A shameful name was given to the four men: the southern devil.
Today, the devil finally gets what he deserves — hell.
